Why We Built Rillium Maps
The organizations that manage critical infrastructure deserve modern tools. Rillium Maps was built to close the gap between consumer mapping apps and legacy GIS software that requires a specialist just to get started.
The Problem We Kept Seeing
For decades, cities, utilities, and asset managers have been working around their GIS tools rather than with them. The platforms that exist were built for specialists and carry years of accumulated complexity. Field crews end up on spreadsheets. Managers rely on static PDFs. The data that should live on a map often lives nowhere at all.
Rillium Maps was built to close that gap. It runs on modern infrastructure and is designed around the people doing the actual work, not the GIS analyst in a separate department. It is straightforward to adopt, built for teams, and scales with your organization as your needs grow.
How We Work
Your data is yours. Export all of it, anytime, in open standard formats. We do not access it, analyze it, or share it, and our terms spell out that support staff cannot see your data unless you invite them into your organization yourself.
The platform ships steadily, and every release is documented in our public release notes, so you can see exactly what changed and when. Under the hood it is built on open standards: PostGIS for spatial data, OGC tile services, shapefile import, and ArcGIS REST compatibility. It works with the GIS ecosystem you may already have instead of trying to replace it.
